BALAY Rehabilitation Center

 Freedom from Torture Posters
by Balay Rehabilitation Center
 Philippines

Lots of people would like to torture or be tortured. But their morality does not allow their desire to be conscious that's why they have strong force to prove always how they refuse the torture.

They are the most enthusiastic employees of the organisations against the torture. And how expressive they are when they make a new poster. And we like it. Very very much.

Ők a jogvédő szervezetek leglelkesebb munkatársai. És milyen kifejezőek tudnak lenni, amikor elkészítenek egy-egy új plakátot. És nekünk ez tetszik. Nagyon.

not love marks - but it could be

A mi helyzetünkben ezek a nyomok lehetnének a szeretet jelei is.
Persze most nem azok. De nekünk tetszenek.

"a young man (38) from Dzivarasekwa, Harare who was abducted by 'soldiers' militia in full combat camoflage kit with fringed hats who beat him for hours with chains and fan belts on his back and chest. Also on his feet and hands."

Not love marks - but it could be

Ezek most nem a szeretet jelei - de lehetnének azok is

Abu Yasser (19yo) was traveling in a taxi close to Nahr al-Bared. The army had been patrolling the area in search of militants who had escaped from the camp. The taxi was stopped and the soldiers asked for Abu Yasser’s ID. He showed his Palestinian identification papers and the army handcuffed and blindfolded him without explanation. He spent the next 12-and-a-half hours under Lebanese army custody.
"They beat me with my hands, feet and neck tied together so I couldn’t move. They used chains to whip my back, and they hooked up electricity to my wrists and electrocuted me.”- said Abu Yasser. (2007)

Abu Yasser taxival ment éppen a Nahr al-Bared menekülttábor közelében. A terület a hadsereg ellenőrzése alatt állt. A katonák megállították a taxit, s kérték Abu Yasser papírjait. Ő átadta a papírjait, mire a katonák minden magyarázat nélkül megbilincselték és bekötötték a szemét. A következő 12 órát katonai őrizetben töltötte.

"A kezeikkel ütöttek, s a lábaimnál és a nyakamnál voltam megkötve, hogy mozdulni se tudtam. Lánccal korbácsolták a hátam, majd vezetéket kapcsoltak a csuklómra és árammal kínoztak. ..." (2007)

Clinton Fein and our pathology

Torture
Clinton Fein's exhibition
San Francisco, January 2007

'Fein focuses on the choreography and sexualization of torture'

'the images radiate a profound beauty and eroticism that is all at once seductive, disturbing and unsettling'

'As exhausting and uncomfortable as it was for the models, there was something inexplicably erotic and sexaully charged in choreographing the scenes, which in turn, allowed me to understand a little more of the pathology of the torturers.'

Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen

"Chen Zhen (played by Donnie Yen) is tortured by a Japanese army officer. The cruelness in the scene is very rarely seen in Chinese films."

Mon colonel

(Laurent Herbiet, 2006, 110 min)

Really.
The independence is a dangerous thing.
Unpredictable.
You dont want it.
And we like this.
